Saber Interactive has announced that Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 has surpassed 12 million players, marking a major milestone for the action title as it continues to receive post-launch support. Alongside the announcement, the studio shared new details on upcoming content, including Patch 13, roadmap updates, and plans to extend support into a third year.
The updated roadmap outlines several additions planned across Year 2, including a Salamanders-themed DLC pack and an overhaul of Siege mode. One of the more notable changes involves a rework of the game’s customization system, allowing certain class-specific wargear to be equipped across different classes. The rollout will be split across updates, with Patch 13 introducing items such as capes and Iron Halos, while Patch 14 will expand options further with tabards and robes.
Patch 13 itself introduces a range of new content. This includes the Iron Hands Chapter Pack as part of Season Pass 2, featuring a Techmarine Champion and themed armor pieces. A new PvE operation set on Kadaku will also be added, tasking players with investigating Chaos activity near a Cadian base. In addition, the update brings new high difficulty challenges called Trials of Resolve, designed to test players over extended play sessions with multi-tier objectives.
The update also expands gameplay systems with the introduction of wargear sharing, allowing players to equip certain items across classes, though some lore restrictions will still apply. Siege mode is receiving a significant overhaul, including new items, modifiers, and boss encounters such as the Hive Tyrant and Vortex Beast. The mode’s timer system is also being reworked to increase difficulty rather than ending runs outright.
Additional features in Patch 13 include a new Practice Arena aboard the Battle Barge, where players can test weapons and track performance metrics, as well as new weapon variants and a secondary Bolt Carbine sidearm. Quality of life improvements are also being introduced, including perk loadouts that allow players to save and switch between multiple builds more efficiently.
Looking ahead, the developers confirmed that live support for Space Marine 2 will continue into a third year, with all postponed content from Year 2 set to carry over as free updates. A limited-time community event is also currently live, offering players rewards for completing specific objectives before May 6.
