Steam Frame units have reportedly begun arriving at Valve Corporation’s US warehouses, suggesting that its launch may happen sometime soon.

Extended Reality (XR) specialist Brad Lynch took to Twitter/X to share details regarding Valve Corporation’s recent warehouse activity, which suggests that the Steam Frame may be close to launch. He claimed that the company has been receiving “Virtual Reality Devices” imports in bulk quantity as of June 10, 2026, at its distribution warehouse in the US.

According to Lynch, it’s safe to assume that the aforementioned “Virtual Reality Devices” inbound at Valve Corporation’s warehouse are Steam Frame units, as the company has no other VR headset currently in production. The source of Lynch’s information is a bot that tracks import records to companies of interest and provides him the findings. It also gives him more information than what is publicly available sometimes.

When asked by a follower about the delay between Lynch spotting Steam Controller warehouse imports and the announcement of its release, he mentioned that the duration was around 3 to 4 weeks, suggesting that the Steam Frame’s launch date may be announced within a similar time frame.

In April, Lynch shared his view on internal pricing targets he was told for the Steam Machine and Steam Frame, both before and after the ongoing RAM shortage. According to him, the Steam Machine has received the most substantial price hike, while the Steam Frame is “not as bad.” He refrained from sharing specifics. On the Steam Frame not receiving a price hike as substantial as the Steam Machine, the XR specialist speculated that it may be due to mobile LPDDR RAM prices not being affected as much as mainstream RAM. As for whether the VR headset will be considered expensive, he said that it depends on people’s perception of what VR hardware should cost.
