Bandai Namco has announced details about the upcoming Patch 1.12 for Tekken 8, which is set to release on February 18, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
This update will celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary and Tekken 8’s first year since launch, although there may also be some unannounced minor character balance adjustments.
Key Features in Tekken 8 Patch 1.12
- Special TEKKEN FIGHT PASS: A limited-time Fight Pass will be introduced, featuring exclusive 30th-anniversary items and collaboration content with Japanese artist Bkub Okawa (@bkub_comic).
- Premium Perks: Players who purchase the Premium Fight Pass will have access to an emote that allows them to “paint” the floors of online lounges with Bkub’s artwork.
Server Maintenance: Online services will be offline on February 18 from 02:30 to 06:00 CET (February 17, 17:30 to 21:00 PDT) for the patch deployment. Bandai Namco has noted that the schedule could change without prior notice.
This update follows the January 26 launch of Tekken 8, which marks the series’ first console-first release after decades of arcade exclusivity. Although Bandai Namco has confirmed there will be no major gameplay changes, fans expect subtle balance adjustments for the character roster.
Tekken 8 is currently available exclusively for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X. The game recently won the DICE award for Best Fighting Game of the Year and the Evo award for Best Fighting Game. It was developed and published by Bandai Namco.
Bandai Namco has not yet shared details about the upcoming season for Tekken 8 following the conclusion of the Tekken World Tour in December 2024. However, they hinted at future plans, including the return of a fan-favorite character from the past and various changes to the moves and mechanics for the main roster. More information regarding the launch of Season 2 for Tekken 8 is expected to be announced soon.
