The Duskbloods May Be Playable As A Single Player Game In Offline Mode

FromSoftware’s upcoming action role-playing game, The Duskbloods, may be playable as a single-player game in offline mode.

Game specifications for The Duskbloods listed on the official Nintendo of Australia website store page include mention of the upcoming action role-playing title being playable locally in what may be a single-player offline mode. While the mentioned of one local player may also be present to indicate that the game won’t feature a local split-screen mode, developer FromSoftware has yet to confirm whether it will be an online-only experience. As such, it’s difficult to say either way at the moment.

It’s worth noting that despite being a multiplayer-focused game, Elden Ring Nightreign also features a solo mode. It’s possible that the same will be true for the PvPvE-focused The Duskbloods. Additionally, given the portable nature of the Nintendo Switch 2, it highly likely for the game to be playable offline at least in some shape or form.

The Closed Network Test for The Duskbloods is set to take place later this summer. Participants will take on the role of a Bloodsworn, fighting their way through a world overrun with enemies using unique weapons and abilities, while occasionally forming transient alliances on their path to victory.

Back in November, 2025, credible Chinese game journalist Giwin claimed that The Duskbloods was greenlit before the year 2019 and went through a longer period of gameplay prototyping and validation than any of the studio’s other titles to date. They further mentioned that the project was greenlit even before the marketing cycle for Sekiro. More importantly, they said that the PvPvE title is packed with “many innovative elements” that the development team is particularly proud of. While The Duskbloods includes both competitive and cooperative player interaction, it reportedly avoids falling into familiar genres like battle royale or extraction. Instead, FromSoftware appears to be experimenting with systems such as contracts, nemesis-style mechanics, and multiple win conditions.
