Bethesda has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11.
The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer, which also confirms that the physical release will include the full game on the cartridge rather than requiring a download.
The Switch 2 version also comes bundled with the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions, along with additional downloadable content included in the remastered release.
Originally released as a surprise launch in April 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered modernises Bethesda’s classic role-playing game with upgraded visuals while retaining the original game’s quests, progression systems and world design.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version was first revealed during a Nintendo Direct and is now set to arrive on August 11. Bethesda has previously confirmed that the game targets 30 FPS on the console, running at up to 1080p while docked and 900p in handheld mode.
The confirmation that the complete game is stored on the cartridge is likely to be welcomed by physical game collectors, particularly as it also includes the major story expansions without requiring them to be downloaded separately.
