YouTube is has been probing its employees following the major PlayStation State of Play leak that revealed all announcements ahead of the presentation.
Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson took to Twitter/X to share that, from what he has gathered, the YouTube management has investigated employees breaching their contractual agreements on two different occasions in the past 18 months due to employees accessing content on the back-end.
According to Henderson, the YouTube management will conduct a third investigation following today’s leaks from the State of Play presentation held by PlayStation, and likely also after Summer Game Fest. Leaks of this magnitude that happen hours prior to an event or a presentation can be quite discouraging for all those who work hard to put everything together. As such, we certainly hope that the social media platform gets to the bottom of these leaks and prevents them from happening.
The State of Play announcements from today were leaked beforehand by Twitter/X insider LeakProximidad, who has correctly leaked information regarding other game announcements in the past. They shared cryptic hints regarding each of the announcements that occurred during the presentation.
Their tweets had stated, ” Clashing dynasties in a story long told, Hunts, more players enjoying the adventures of a demigod, he adventures of the company’s mascot, adventures celebrating 10 years of a franchise, open worlds with an Asian feel, foggy villages, Marvel, Diablo’s competitor, film horror already announced, the new game from a studio specializing in VR, a new game I believe to be from a new Middle Eastern studio.”
Based on the above hints, it wasn’t particularly difficult to figure out the games that were revealed at today’s State of Play. The presentation offered updates on PS5 and PS VR2 titles as well as a look at PlayStation Studios games arriving later this year. It spanned a duration of over 30 minutes, and featured 14 titles.
