Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is one of the games that is set to receive a 60 FPS update on the PS5 and Xbox Series X. This was confirmed by Ubisoft.
Ubisoft has confirmed that a new title update (1.6.0) will be released for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This title update will add support for 60 FPS on the PS5 and Xbox Series. The game will still run with backward compatibility so don’t expect to see the full power of the current-generation consoles utilized, including things like Haptic Feedback on PS5.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Update 1.60 Patch Notes
- This update adds 60 FPS support when running the game on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility.
This patch is confirmed to arrive on August 24, so expect it in the next 24 hours. If you have the game installed, you should get it automatically and in case the update doesn’t trigger, try to manually check for it on your PS4/PS5. Do the same on Xbox consoles by heading into the Updates section. Obviously, don’t be in a hurry and check now since it is not out yet.
Assasin’s Creed Odyssey followed in the footsteps of Origins, which was essentially a complete reboot of the series. It was followed by Valhalla, the next chapter in the Assassin’s Creed series.
Based on what Ubisoft has shared so far, we do know that the next Assassin’s Creed game is called Infinity and will work as a live service instead of the traditional single-player campaign with post-launch updates and season passes.
