SNK has announced The King of Fighters XV at the recently held Evo 2019 championship. They have confirmed the game is now in development.
The King of Fighters is a cult-classic fighting game by SNK. They brought it back with a reboot earlier this generation that shifted the focus of the from traditional old-school 2D sprites to full 3D character models. It was released for PS4 and PC. This entry included more than 50 fighters and offered the same classic in-depth fighting system that has become a staple for the series.

SNK has recently brought back their Samura Shodown series as well with a reboot that used a 3D art style. Unlike their effort with King of Fighters XIV, Samurai Shodown had a slightly different art style that attempted to retain its original aesthetics. SNK hasn’t shown much for The King of Fighters XV as the teaser trailer was mostly a logo.
