Industry analysts have shared their expected retail price for the upcoming console from Nintendo, the Switch 2.
Bloomberg has reached out to industry analysts, who regularly communicate with Nintendo as well as its software and hardware partners, for their estimated price for the Switch 2. They anticipate the upcoming console to have a price tag of 400 US Dollars or more, but still expect it to have the biggest launch in the history of the game industry.

Tokyo-based industry analyst Serkan Toto believes that Nintendo will sell “boatloads” of Switch 2 units during the first months of its lifecycle, almost regardless of its price. He expects a great software lineup during the console’s first year, from a new Mario Kart and 3D Mario after eight years to Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4. He also anticipates third-party support from day one, likely including blockbusters such as Call of Duty.
Other industry analysts, including Yijia Zhai of UBS and Robin Zhu of Sanford C. Bernstein, also expect the Switch 2 to sell at a retail price of 400 US Dollars or more. Zhu believes Nintendo will launch the console in June, 2025, with an inventory of 6 million to 8 million units.
Toyo Securities analyst Hideki Yasuda wouldn’t be surprised to see Nintendo going ahead with a price tag of 500 US Dollars. He pointed out that the original Switch’s Nvidia chip cost around 80 US Dollars per unit, while the Switch 2’s chip is likely to be within the 130 to 150 US Dollar range. While he cautioned that US tariffs could hike the upcoming console’s price higher, he also pointed out that, in addition to China, the Switch 2 will be assembled in Vietnam, a major US trading partner. He believes this diversified manufacturing footprint will help to lower the risk of US tariffs for Nintendo.
Macquarie Capital analyst Hiroshi Yamashina estimates the Switch 2 price to fall between 400 and 450 US Dollars. He believes the console will sell over 20 million units in its first year on the market.
Previously, during an interview with CNBC, industry analyst David Gibson had also said that he expects a 400 US Dollar price for the base SKU of the Nintendo Switch 2. Read about it here.
