Black Myth: Wukong Download Size Makes It One of the Heaviest PS5 Games Yet
The download size for Game Science’s upcoming action role-playing game, Black Myth: Wukong, has been revealed, and its pre-load is now available.
PlayStationSize on Twitter has revealed the download size for Black Myth: Wukong, courtesy of recent database entries made to PlayStation servers. The action role-playing title will take up a massive chunk of storage space on PS5. Those with limited available space on the internal storage drive are advised to clear up some space in advance. It goes without saying that internal SSD expansion options are available for those who need them.

As seen above, Black Myth: Wukong weighs in at 104.394 GB on PS5, and will, therefore, require a large amount of space for installation. Furthermore, the game is now available for pre-load on the PlayStation Store for those who pre-ordered a digital copy. It comes with the latest update i.e. version 1.000.007, pre-installed, though a day one update may be rolled out closer to release on August 20, 2024. Meanwhile, those who purchased the game on disc will need to download the update.
Previously, Game Science founder and CEO, Feng Ji, took to social media to address the recent Black Myth: Wukong gameplay leak and the influx of spoilers regarding the game’s story. He said that he’s in a situation where he can’t say anything and isn’t sure how to address everything. He mentioned that Game Science had already made it very clear that those who are looking for a 1:1 remake of the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West will be disappointed in finding a different story.
