Activision dropped the news of the next Call of Duty today through Warzone. It has been posted to the official website. Here’s what you need to know about this upcoming COD that is set to launch on November 5.
First up is the reveal trailer that goes through cinematic moments and mixes them with real-time gameplay. At least, this is what it looks like to us, since some of the footage is definitely not pre-rendered but looks like it was running on a real-time game engine.

Does COD Vanguard Feature a Campaign?
Yes, you heard this right. There is a campaign in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Here’s how the developers have described it.
This is WWII combat like never before. Witness the origins of Special Forces as you play a pivotal role and change the face of history, forming Task Force One in a gripping Campaign across four major theaters of war.
So you will be playing the roles of various Special Forces members, four to be exact, and discover the origins of this force. You will go through various locations around the world. If we had to bet, they are featured in the reveal trailer from North Africa to the Pacific.
How Many Multiplayer Maps Will Launch With Call of Duty Vanguard?
There will be 20 multiplayer maps at launch. Since ditching the traditional Season Pass, Activision has started to focus on Battle Pass for their yearly Call of Duty games while offering additional content like new maps and operators for free. Make no mistake though, these will require you to grind for points to unlock them. But this is the story as usual for every games as a service title.
Sledgehammer Games is promising new additions including “an advanced Gunsmith and Caliber system that brings immersive and reactive environments to a new level, and the next generation of the seminal 2v2 Gunfight mode first introduced in Modern Warfare; Champion Hill”
Will There Be Zombies Mode?
Yes, this has been confirmed as well. Apparently, this new Zombies mode is a “franchise-first” and will feature “universe-expanding Zombies crossover.” We are not sure what that means but Fortnite might ring a bell here.
How Will Call of Duty Vanguard Interact With Warzone?
Yes, Raven Software is finally bringing anti-cheat to Warzone along with a brand new map to launch along with COD Vanguard. Sledgehammer is calling it the “most-connected” COD game in the series featuring “free post-launch content, a massive calendar of new maps, modes, playlists, limited time and seasonal events, as well as community celebrations integrated between the two games.”
Will COD Vanguard Support Cross-Play, Cross-Save, and Cross-Gen?
Yes to all of these questions. The game is confirmed to support cross-play and cross-save at launch. As for cross-generation, you need to purchase the slightly expensive cross-generation bundle at $69.99 to get both the old and current generation console versions.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to launch on November 5th, 2021, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
