Details regarding the review embargo for Blizzard’s upcoming action role-playing game, Diablo IV, have been revealed.
Update: According to Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller, the review embargo for Diablo IV will be lifted on May 30, 2023 at 9 am Pacific Time.
Original Story: A Twitch streamer by the name of DatModz, usually streams action role-playing games and MMOs, mentioned in his latest stream that he knows a lot about Diablo IV but can’t talk about it until the May 26, 2023. It appears that he is in possession of a review copy of the game, and that the embargo will be lifted on the date he mentioned.
Simiarly, Forbes’ Paul Tassi mentioned on Twitter last week that he’d be setting down The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom for his review of Diablo IV, which suggests that the review embargo is likely being lifted this week. Windows Central’s Jez Corden also hinted that he was playing a certain game he wanted to talk about, but couldn’t due to embargo restrictions.
Previously, it was revealed how long it will take players to reach the max level cap in Diablo IV. According to the Associate Game Director of Diablo IV, Joseph Piepiora, getting to the game’s max level cap i.e. Level 100, will take over 150 hours, based on the average player experience.
There had been some confusion earlier regarding the total time it would take players to reach Level 100 in the latest entry in the Diablo series. Piepiora had mentioned both 80 and 150 hours in different interviews, though he has now clarified that the latter duration is estimated based on the average player experience.
Additionally, it was reported that Microsoft will release a Diablo IV edition Xbox Series X console to coincide with the game’s launch. According to Twitter user billbil_kun, who is known for leaking information regarding the PlayStation Plus lineup ahead of its official announcement, Microsoft will release a Diablo IV edition Xbox Series X alongside the game’s launch on June 6th, 2023.
