Microsoft recently revealed Forza Horizon 5 for the Xbox One and Xbox Series in addition to PC. The game will support 60 FPS on the current-gen consoles.
Forza Horizon 5 is the next game in the critically and commercially successful Horizon spin-off based on the Forza Motorsport franchise. The next game is coming to the last and current-generation consoles in addition to PC. The official FAQ for the game had mentioned that there will be two gameplay modes: Performance and Visuals.
Performance mode will offer 60 FPS on the current-generation consoles but the resolution of the game was not confirmed in the FAQ. As for the visual mode, it will limit the frame rate to 30 FPS but run at 4K resolution on the Xbox Series X.
In an update on Twitter, Mike Brown, who is the creative director of Forza Horizon 5, has confirmed the resolution for both of these consoles. In the case of the Xbox Series S, it will run at 1080p and 60 FPS while in the case of the Xbox Series X, it will run at 4K at 60 FPS. While the director didn’t elaborate further on this, it could be dynamic 4K and 1080p resolution just like in the previous game.
The game will be available on November 9, 2021, and available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. It is being developed by Playground Games.
