Payday 3 is a cooperative first-person shooter developed by Starbreeze Studios and published by Deep Silver. It is the sequel to Payday 2 and the third game in the Payday series. It was released on September 21, 2023, for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is set after the events of Payday 2, where the Payday Gang had disbanded and left their criminal activities behind. However, after being double-crossed and losing all their money, they return to a life of crime. The original crew from Payday: The Heist (“Dallas,” “Chains,” “Wolf,” and “Hoxton”) reappear, along with two additional heisters: “Joy” from Payday 2 and a new character named “Pearl.” The game is primarily set in New York during the 2020s and introduces new elements such as advanced surveillance and the rise of cryptocurrency to deepen the gang’s criminal activities. One mission, as teased in images, is set in the “Gold & Sharke Incorporated” bank. Payday 3 ended up being the fifth and the sixth best-selling title during the month of September, 2023, in the US and UK, respectively.
