Ghost of Tsushima has been a sales success for SIE Japan and the stock is facing a shortage, as per an official statement from SIE Japan.
Ghost of Tsushima pre-sales data in Japan had suggested that the game could be on the verge of becoming the best-selling first-party game in Japan and this is turning out to be the case so far. As per an official tweet by PlayStation Japan, Ghost of Tsushima has exceeded sales expectations and the publisher is working to get more copies out in retail stores.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan has also urged fans to get the game digitally if they are not able to locate a physical copy. The game can be bought for 7950yen for the standard and 8690yen for the digital deluxe edition on PlayStation Store Japan.
Ghost of Tsushima is proving to be a big hit for Sucker Punch and Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios. While it might not hit the sales success of The Last of Us Part II or Marvel’s Spider-Man, as a new IP, it is proving to be the most successful project by SIE Worldwide Studios.

The game has sold well in the UK and has a good pre-sales estimate in Japan, which should give the game a nice opening week sales. Sony Interactive Entertainment hasn’t disclosed any official sales number but they usually do it after a week or more.
