Gran Turismo 7 has received a massive update today ahead of the launch of the game on March 4. This further adds to its file size.
According to PlayStationGameSize, a Twitter account that keeps track of changes to the PlayStation database, a new update was released for Gran Turismo 7 that has brought the overall file size of the game to 96.8 GB.
We had reported that the store page for the game listed 110 GB as the minimum required file size, while the file size of the PS5 version was roughly under 90 GB. It was expected that with a day one patch, the file size might increase. This is turning out to be the case now with the first patch adding a little over 7 GB of data to the overall fie size.
The PS4 version is slightly higher in file size. The new update has also been released for the PS4 version and it is reportedly twice in size compared to the PS5. The reported download size for this update on the PS4 is 16 GB, which means that those who obtain a retail copy of the PS4 version will need to download 16+ GB of update data to get the most feature-complete version of the game.
Gran Turismo 7 is available on March 4, 2022, and will release for PS4 and PS5. Some of the PS5 exclusive features of the game include fast loading times, haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and ray-tracing support that is absent for the PS4. The game also offers support for 3D audio leading to improved impression.
