Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii Is “Much Larger” In Size Than The Man Who Erased His Name
Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s upcoming Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii is much larger in size than Like A Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name.
During a joint interview with the cast members of Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii after the RGG Summit, it was revealed that Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii is much larger in size compared to Like A Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Masayoshi Yokoyamar shared that Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii’s story is about 1.3 to 1.5 times larger than that of Like A Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name. He mentioned that they didn’t know about the game’s setting, or the exact area of the city it belongs to. It features Honolulu City, which previously appeared in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and there are various other stages such as Mad Lantis. As such, Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii is much larger in scope compared to Like A Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name. He feels that the concept of “Gaiden” being a compact project is gradually disappearing from the studio.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is scheduled for a global launch on Friday, February 28, 2025, and will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and PC via Steam. The game is up for pre-order across all platforms, with a range of editions available. The game takes the beloved character of Goro Majima on a new, action-packed journey across both land and sea. Set one year after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Majima finds himself stranded on a deserted island, with no recollection of his identity. Accompanied by a young boy named Noah, who rescues him, Majima embarks on a quest across the ocean to reclaim his lost identity. However, the adventure soon entangles them in a perilous conflict involving modern-day pirates, criminals, and a legendary treasure.
