Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Update 1.002.004 Resolves Issue With Last Patch

by Ali Haider

Insomniac Games has fired out a quick hotfix for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 patching the game to version 1.002.004 on PS5.

After the last patch, the classic variant suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 faced an issue where alternative colors were removed for it. While there are no detailed patch notes for this update, this could be a hotfix to resolve the bug that was included in the last patch.

  • Addresses an issue where the Classic Suit variants were unusable (via 1.002.003)

Based on the official patch notes, this update deals with the bug with the Classic Suit. Don’t expect any further changes to the game.

If you have forgotten the changes in the last update to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, here’s what was included in it.

One of the main improvements in the patch concerned the appearance of various suits worn by the game’s protagonist. Issues such as waviness in masks and lenses on certain suits, including the Amazing 2 Suit, had been fixed. Additionally, blurriness observed in the webbing of the Classic Suit was addressed. Moreover, visual glitches like glowing lights around Peter’s Hellfire Gala mask and an orb of light on the Iron Spider Suit had been resolved.

Moving on to gameplay, several issues affecting user save data were tackled. Instances where save data would disappear, particularly after the v. 1.002.000 update, were fixed. Another significant fix involves correcting prompts that erroneously suggested starting a new game instead of continuing with the existing New Game Plus (NG+) save file. Furthermore, issues related to in-game mechanics, such as the movement of the sun during specific time settings and missing tutorial prompts, were addressed.
