My Friend Peppa Pig has been updated and a PS5 and Xbox Series version is available for the game now, but is this a decent upgrade?
As crazy as it sounds for a kid-friendly game like My Friend Peppa Pig, there is indeed a ‘next-generation’ version of the game available right now. It does offer improvements that are not seen in the last-generation version, but it also has some weird drawbacks that can be game-breaking issues.
After the update, My Friend Peppa Pig runs at 4K at 60 FPS and also offers a performance mode on top of it. The performance mode drops the resolution down to 1080p at 60 FPS, which is strange since the game is hardly demanding at all.
What is stranger is how the game behaves when it runs at 4K on the PS5. The performance is hardly consistent leading to stutters which can be quite annoying. The game also has screen tearing which adds to the visual issues that are present in the game.
Overall, the load times might be improved and while the game runs at 60 FPS now, it is still a terrible upgrade that is not worth getting a PS5. If you already own one and have the game, you can go ahead and play the PS5 version instead of the PS4, but you are likely going to encounter these issues.
We are not sure if the same applies to the Xbox Series version so this is the part where it can be hoped that at least the Xbox Series fares better here compared to the PS5.
