by Salal Awan

Nintendo has apologized for the performance issues faced by players in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and released a new update 1.1.0.

Since the launch of the game, players have been facing problems including terrible performance, visual glitches, and game-breaking bugs. The last patch that was released for the game was on November 10, and today Nintendo has published another update for the game.

Based on the patch notes, the main reason for this update is to start the Season 1 Ranked Battles in the game, but the actual list of bug fixes is quite small.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Update 1.1.0 Patch Notes

  • Season 1 of Ranked Battles will kick off, allowing you to enjoy Ranked Battles through the Battle Stadium.
    • Please check the in-game notice for more details about Ranked Battles Season 1.
  • An issue has been fixed that caused the music to not play correctly during the battles with the Elite Four and the Top Champion in the Victory Road path.
  • Other select bug fixes have been made.

In addition to sharing the patch notes, Nintendo has released a statement as well confirming that they are aware of the performance issues faced by the players in the game.

“We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games’ performance. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games, ” reads the statement by Nintendo.

It remains to be seen if they are able to fix these issues on the base Nintendo Switch hardware. Most of the problems faced by the game could be chalked up to a rushed launch since there are other, more ambitious games, on the Nintendo Switch that perform better. Nintendo is also working on a sequel to Breath of the Wild which is planned to launch on the Nintendo Switch in 2023.
