Nintendo appears to be continuing its push into film and entertainment with a newly discovered job listing focused specifically on movie promotion and marketing.
As spotted by Genki_JPN, Nintendo is hiring for a role titled “Movie Project Promotion Manager.” According to the listing, the position will oversee “marketing and promotional activities for film projects utilizing Nintendo IP” while working alongside domestic and international partners to lead promotional campaigns tied to Nintendo franchises.
The job posting also lists several notable requirements, including business-level English proficiency, long-term familiarity with Nintendo products and services, and “deep understanding of Nintendo IP through having the hobby of playing games.”
The listing arrives as Nintendo continues expanding its presence in film following the massive success of its recent theatrical projects. After the breakout performance of the 2023 Super Mario Bros. movie, the company has increasingly shifted toward a more regular release strategy for adaptations based on its gaming franchises.
Nintendo most recently released The Super Mario Galaxy Movie in April 2026, while the company’s upcoming live-action The Legend of Zelda adaptation remains one of its biggest projects currently in development.
Nintendo recently confirmed that the release date of The Legend of Zelda movie was moved up to April 30, 2027. Directed by Wes Ball, the film stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda. Production on the project has reportedly already wrapped filming in New Zealand.
The company also has another animated collaboration with Illumination planned for April 2028, though Nintendo has not officially announced details about the project. Industry speculation has pointed toward either another Mario movie or a Donkey Kong-focused spin-off.
