Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal Trailer Amasses Over 23 Million YouTube Views In Record Time

The reveal trailer for the Nintendo Switch successor, the Switch 2, has amassed more than 23 million views on YouTube in record time.

The Nintendo Switch 2 reveal trailer made waves across social media, receiving a grand total of over 23 million views across official YouTube channels in less than a day. As of writing, on the official Nintendo of America channel, the first-look trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 got nearly 15 million views. In comparison, the original Nintendo Switch hardware overview trailer from February 8, 2017, received over 6 million views to date.

Similarly, on the official Nintendo of UK YouTube channel, the first-look trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 received over 1.1 million views. In comparison, the original Nintendo Switch hardware overview trailer from February 8, 2017, received over 0.1 million views to date.

As for Europe, the first-look trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 got over 0.56 million views on the official Nintendo France YouTube channel, over 0.49 million views on the official Nintendo Germany YouTube channel, and over 35 thousand views on the official Nintendo Netherlands YouTube channel. Meanwhile, on the official Nintendo of Japan YouTube channel, the first-look trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 received over 5.21 million views.

The aforementioned YouTube stats are just the start, and the first-look trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to gain many more views leading up to the Nintendo Direct scheduled to happen on April 2, 2025. The console maker will also be holding Nintendo Switch 2 Experience events, where consumers can get some hands-on time with the upcoming hardware, in cities across the globe. A Nintendo Account is required in order to participate in the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience events. Those interested can register for tickets from January 17, 2025, at 12 PM PT / 2 PM CT / 3 PM ET until January 26, 2025 at 11:59 PM local time for each event location. The events in New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas are only open to US residents.
