Ori 3 Leak Suggests It Could Be A Prequel & May Be Shadow Dropped

Another leak for Ori 3 has appeared online, suggesting that the third installment in the Metroidvania series may be a prequel, and that it may be shadow dropped upon announcement.

Twitter user NWeedle, who had previously shared details regarding the development of Ori 3, has now claimed that the game may be a prequel, as there is no reference to the number “3”. The leaker also stated that the game may be shadow dropped upon announcement.

Ori 3 prequel

According to the leaker, it appears likely that the success of Hi-Fi Rush has influenced the publisher to wait and do a shadow drop alongside the announcement. They said that the game has a predominance of green tones. A “flaming logo” with an animation was allegedly created for the game, but was ultimately scrapped.

Previously, the same leaker claimed to have confirmation from multiple sources regarding the development of Ori 3, along with an image that appears to tease the third game. However, he added that he did not have any information regarding the developer. As per him, the game’s development appeared to be on track.

Given that Moon Studios was in charge of developing the previous entries in the Ori series, it seems unlikely that another studio is going to be handling the development of Ori 3. According to the leaker, he has received confirmation regarding the development of Ori 3 from different sources, and all of them provided him with the same information.

Going by the success of Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, a third entry seems like a no-brainer for all parties involved. However, only time will tell whether this information is accurate. As with all such rumors, we urge our readers also to take this one with a grain of salt.

The previous entry in the Ori series, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a platform-adventure Metroidvania video game developed by Moon Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios.
