PS Plus Premium has added a major new game trial ahead of the series premiere of HBO’s The Last of Us TV show.
The game in question is none other than The Last of Us Part 1, which is a remake of the 2013 original that the HBO TV series is based on. PS Plus Premium subscribers can now access a game trial for The Last of Us Part 1 for the total playtime duration of 2 hours. That’s plenty of time to try out the remake and decide if it’s worth picking up.
With all the buzz around the HBO TV series, now is probably the best time for PS Plus Premium subscribers who haven’t played The Last of Us to hop in and spend a decent amount of time with the game via the trial. PS Plus Essential and PS Plus Extra subscribers who feel left out may upgrade their subscription plans, should they also wish to avail the offer.
Previously, the series showrunner for HBO’s The Last of Us referred to the game as the “greatest story” in video game history. Speaking during an interview, Craig Mazin claimed that the video game of the same name features the greatest story that has ever been told in all of gaming. He termed it as an “open-and-shut case”.
Mazin justified his statement by saying that the characters of The Last of Us were simply regular people. As per him, that, in and of itself, is remarkably rare in video games. He said that because the characters and story were both kept so grounded, it really made one “feel”. He added that he had never experienced anything like it before, and he’s been playing video games since 1977. According to Mazin, games themselves are often brilliant to play, and not at all brilliant to watch when dramatized.
