Sony continues to update the PS5 firmware in minor increments. They usually released a major system update during a quarter where they add new features, resolve some of the bugs, and so on. The last major update added support for the M.2 SSD storage which allowed users to upgrade the internal storage of the PlayStation 5.

In addition to the PS5, Sony has also released a system update for the PS4 in recent times that appears to resolve a critical issue with the system dealing with the CMOS Battery.
