PS5 Price Increase Announced for Southeast Asia

Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed a new round of price adjustments for the PlayStation 5 across several Southeast Asian markets, with the updated recommended retail prices set to take effect on May 1, 2026. The announcement, shared by Isabelle Tomatis, Vice President of Global Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, outlines revised pricing for multiple PS5 models as well as the PlayStation Portal remote player.

In Singapore, the standard PS5 will retail for SGD 849, while the Digital Edition is priced at SGD 764. The higher-end PS5 Pro is listed at SGD 1,167. Malaysia will see the standard console priced at MYR 2,799, with the Digital Edition at MYR 2,499 and the PS5 Pro reaching MYR 3,999. Thailand’s updated pricing places the PS5 at THB 20,990, the Digital Edition at THB 18,790, and the PS5 Pro at THB 30,990.

Other regions included in the update reflect similar adjustments. In Indonesia, the PS5 will cost IDR 11,399,000, while the Digital Edition is set at IDR 9,999,000. The Philippines will receive the standard PS5 at PHP 40,032, and in Vietnam, the console will retail for VND 16,900,000.

Alongside the console pricing changes, Sony has also revised the cost of the PlayStation Portal remote player in select markets. Starting May 1, the device will be priced at SGD 347 in Singapore, MYR 1,099 in Malaysia, THB 8,380 in Thailand, and IDR 5,199,000 in Indonesia.

These adjustments will apply across the listed regions simultaneously, marking a notable shift in pricing for Sony’s current-generation hardware lineup in Southeast Asia.
