Sega Europe: No Plans for Yakuza Ishin and Kenzan Release In West

Yakuza Ishin and Kenzan are two spin-offs in the Yakuza franchise that haven’t been localized yet. Sega Europe has now confirmed that they don’t have any plans to bring them to West.

Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 are getting a full HD Remaster treatment for PS4. Unlike the first two games, Sega has opted to ignore them for full remakes and simply remastered the PS3 version to run at a higher resolution and frame rate. Yakuza Ishin and Keenzan are two games that are currently only available on PS3 and apparently Sega has no plans to bring them in English.

In an interview with Russian website Stratege as seen on reddit, Sega Europe manager has confirmed that these two games won’t be localized for the Western market.

While this might sound like bad news, for now, the hopeful thing is that Yakuza series producer has expressed interest in bringing these games as full remakes to the current generation consoles. If they end up remaking them, it is possible that they will be localized as well.

Sega has just announced Yakuza 7 which takes the series in a new direction with a different protagonist and turn-based combat system. The feedback regarding this announcement has been mostly mixed from fans which prompted the series producer to comment on it and assure them that it won’t be a boring game.
