Street Fighter 6 On Nintendo Switch 2 Appears To Surpass Xbox Series S Visuals, Comparison Reveals

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 appears to surpass those of the Xbox Series S version in terms of visuals.

The trailer for Street Fighter 6 during the recent Direct presentation gave us our first look at the Nintendo Switch 2 version, allowing for the opportunity to compare it to the existing Xbox Series S version of the game. In terms of graphical settings, the two versions are largely identical, with ambient occlusion being of lower quality on Nintendo’s upcoming console.

However, the Xbox Series S version of Street Fighter 6 has some issues of its own that result in it not running textures correctly by default. While there are several ways to fix this, it’s a tedious process. Capcom has yet to address the bug. Even with the fixed textures in the Xbox Series X version, however, the Nintendo Switch 2 version exhibits better image quality. It’s unclear whether this is due to the Nintendo console running the game at a higher resolution or DLSS upscaling being engaged.

Overall, based on currently available footage from the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Street Fighter 6, it looks like the upcoming console is capable of delivering a slightly better experience than on the Xbox Series S. It’s possible that the new version will receive some improvements by time it launches on June 5, 2025.

Street Fighter 6 is a fighting game developed and published by Capcom. It is the seventh main installment in the Street Fighter series, following 2016’s Street Fighter V. The game launched on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S, with an arcade edition titled Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade later released by Taito for Japanese arcades. The Nintendo Switch 2 will come with Amiibo support. Built using the RE Engine, Street Fighter 6 features cross-platform play and rollback netcode. The game continues the “2.5D” graphical approach first introduced in Street Fighter IV.
