Rocksteady Games has confirmed that Suicide Squad has been delayed to Spring 2023. It was originally targeting a launch in 2022.
Suicide Squad is a brand new action game from Rocksteady, the creators of the Batman Arkham series. It is their first major project since the launch of Batman Arkham Knight in 2015, so it has taken a long time for them to release their next project, almost eight years if we go by the latest delay.
In a message shared on Twitter, Sefton Hill, the Creative Director and Co-Founder of Rocksteady Games has confirmed that the game has been delayed to Spring 2023.
“We’ve made the difficult decision to delay Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League to Spring 2023, ” reads the tweet. “I know a delay is frustrating but that time is going into making the best game we can. I look forward to bringing the chaos to Metropolis together. Thanks for your patience.”
This is not the only DC game to launch in 2022. Gotham Knights is another project by Warner Bros. Montreal that was initially supposed to launch in 2021 but it was delayed to 2022. It is coming to the last and current-generation consoles later this year while Suicide Squad is a next-generation only release which will be out in 2023.
