The Witcher 3 Update Adds A Mysterious Easter Egg Linking It To Cyberpunk 2077

by Muhammad Ali Bari

The next-gen update for The Witcher 3 has added a mysterious new Easter egg that links it to Cyberpunk 2077.

The mysterious Easter Egg in the current-gen version of The Witcher 3 is found in the Velen region. It’s at the ruined bastion, where players will find the bear school armor. There are three smaller ruins around this area, and each of them have a switch on one of their walls. These switches were not present in the original version of the game.

When you flip all three switches, an earth elemental shows up between the three towers. Defeating the earth elemental opens up a portal at the top of a nearby hill. Walking up to the portal activates it, and moving into it leads you to the top of the bastion. The only way to go from here is down into a dark room where immortal specters await you.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to defeat them. Moving into the next room spawns more immortal specters. Ignore them for now, and focus on two dormant crystals that need to be activated with the Ard skill. Activating the crystals opens a large green portal, and moving through it allows you to exit the tower.

The room containing the dormant crystals has a mysterious symbol on one of its walls. This is the same symbol present on a statue of a person with a sword in Cyberpunk 2077, as seen below.

It’s unknown at this point how this mysterious symbol links the worlds of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, but its presence in both games appears to be a clue of some sort to a mystery that has yet to be unraveled.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a 2015 action role-playing game developed and published by CD Projekt. It is the third installment in the open-world The Witcher game series, and the sequel to The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings from 2011. The games are based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy novel series The Witcher.
