Twisted Metal will get a TV Show from PlayStation Productions that is being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers behind the “Deadpool” films and “Zombieland.”
PlayStation Productions is a new studio from Sony Interactive Entertainment that is aimed at leveraging the various IPs owned by the company to expand them into multimedia franchises. The first project under PlayStation Productions is the upcoming Uncharted movie that will star Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg.
According to Variety, Sony Pictures TV and PlayStation Productions are working on a TV Show based on the Twisted Metal IP. This was first released as a vehicular combat game back on the PlayStation 1. The last we saw it was as Twisted Metal on the PS3 back in 2012. Since then, the series has been in limbo although the titular character, Sweeth Tooth, has been featured in other PlayStation properties.
As per the source, this will be an action-comedy that will be written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wenick. This is the first confirmation that a TV Show based on the series is in the works, while there have been some rumors in the past but this time there is also an update with the writers that are attached to the project.
