Remedy Entertainment’s Max Payne remake and Project Condor have entered full production, while Control 2 is now in the “production readiness” phase of development.
In its half year financial report for the period of January, 2024, to June, 2024, Remedy Entertainment revealed that Control 2 is now in the “production readiness” phase of development, while the Max Payne remake and Project Condor have entered full production.
Remedy Entertainment stated that project Codename Condor is now in full production. The development team has worked on various maps and mission types, and it has conducted increasing internal and some limited external playtesting for feature validation and feedback. As for Control 2, it has advanced to the production readiness phase. The development team achieved a significant milestone by delivering a build that showcases several key features in playable form, which has facilitated ongoing business negotiations. The team is now focused on scaling up the project’s production. Furthermore, Remedy revealed that the Max Payne 1&2 remake has moved from production readiness to full production. It was mentioned that the development team is currently working to bring the game to an early functional state from start to finish.
Regarding the recently released Night Springs expansion for Alan Wake 2, Remedy Entertainment highlighted that it received excellent reviews from both the press and fans. In June, 2024, Remedy and Epic Games announced that the Physical Deluxe Edition of Alan Wake 2 will be released in October, with a Collector’s Edition set to ship in December. As of the publication of its current report, Alan Wake 2 has recovered most of its development and marketing costs.
In terms of financials, Remedy anticipates revenue growth and an improvement in operating profit (EBIT) compared to the previous year. The rate of revenue growth and EBIT improvement will significantly depend on whether the company opts for self-publishing or selects a new publishing partner for the Control franchise (codename Condor and Control 2).
