Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Comes With a Massive Day One Patch

by Ali Haider

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will be out on October 1st, and ahead of its launch, a massive day one patch is available to download now.

As we have reported earlier that the pre-load of the game is live now on PS4, there appears to be a separate day one update that will patch Crash Bandicoot 4 to version 1.02 on PS4. Since the patch size is separate from the pre-load, if you buy a retail copy, you need to download this update first before playing the game.

As expected from the previous remakes released by Activision, this one also comes with a massive day one patch. The file size of this update is over 20 GB, however, it should be noted that this applies to the retail copies of the game only.

Despite the huge day one update patch for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, there is no way to determine what it fixes in eh game. The patch notes that are accessible on PS4 mention “Data Fixes” only, without any indication of what has been actually fixed.

Regardless, if you have purchased a digital copy of the game, there is no need to worry about downloading a separate update on day one. If you are opting to purchase a physical copy, well, in that case, there is some bad news since you need to download this patch in order to get the best experience that the developers intended to offer at the launch of the game.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is confirmed for the PS4 and Xbox One. It is the first brand new mainline Crash Bandicoot game in more than two decades. It is being developed by Toys For Bob.
