Dave the Diver and Tales of Kanzera: Zau are headed to the PS Plus Extra game catalog for the month of April, 2024.
The official PlayStation blog has shared that the PlayStation console versions of both Dave the Diver and Tales of Kanzera: Zau will arrive day one on PS Plus Extra in April, 2024. The remainder of the list has yet to be revealed, but things are looking promising, as the month is off to a good start with two brand new releases on the PlayStation Store.
For the uninitiated, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is an upcoming Metroidvania game created by Surgent Studios and published by Electronic Arts as part of its EA Originals line. It’s set to launch in April 2024 for Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game follows Zau, a young shaman aiming to revive his father by capturing the spirits of three monsters as offerings to the God of Death, Kalunga. Zau possesses agility, with abilities like double jumping, wall jumping, and mid-air dashing. Armed with the sun and moon masks, Zau can inflict close-range melee damage and long-range attacks, each mask offering its own upgrade paths. Players collect “Ulogi” from defeated enemies to unlock new skills for Zau, gradually progressing through the 2.5D Metroidvania world.
Meanwhile, Dave the Diver, developed by Mintrocket, blends action-adventure and management gameplay. Players assume control of Dave, an diver who heads into the sea during the day and operates a sushi restaurant in the evening. Equipped with a harpoon gun, Dave gathers fish and materials from the ocean, managing oxygen levels and upgrading equipment with earned gold. Back at the restaurant, Dave crafts sushi dishes using the day’s haul, serving customers and improving the establishment’s reputation to unlock new features. Special customers and events add depth to the gameplay, along with side quests and mini-games.
