Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis and The First Soldier Battle Royale Game Announced

by Ali Haider

Square Enix has announced a battle royale game based on the Final Fantasy VII universe, and a compilation of Final Fantasy 7 stories for Smartphones.

First up, we have the Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis Mobile game that will feature stories from the compilation of Final Fantasy 7. This includes Dirge of Cerebus, Crisis Core, the original Final Fantasy 7, and Before Crisis. All of these games will be released as part of a playable compilation divided into chapters and release in 2022.

Here are the details on these new games that were shared by Square Enix. More information on these will be released at a later date.

FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER is a battle royal action game set in Midgar before the events of FINAL FANTASY VII. As a SOLDIER candidate, the player will make full use of their magic and abilities in a battle for their survival. FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS is a chapter-structured single player experience which will cover the whole of the FFVII timeline, including the events of the original game along with all the FFVII compilation titles, as well as new story elements, penned by FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE story and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima, surrounding the origins of SOLDIER.

Square Enix has previously experimented with the chapter-based story idea with Final Fantasy XV. They appear to have been continuing it with the Ever Crisis version that will feature a story spanning four different games as well as new events that are written by the original writer of the game, Kazushige Nojima.

Right now, these games are only confirmed for iOS and Android but if any additional platforms are added, we might know about them at a later date.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is also getting a new Yuffie DLC and improved visuals for PS5 which is due out on June 10, 2021.
