God of War Ragnarök Update 7.0 Introduces Dark Odyssey Collection for 20th Anniversary

Santa Monica Studio has announced God of War Ragnarök Update 7.0, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the God of War franchise with the release of the Dark Odyssey Collection. Inspired by the original God of War (2005) and a classic armor set from God of War II, this update adds a new appearance for Kratos, Atreus, and Freya, along with themed weapon and shield customizations. The update will be available March 20, 2025, for both PlayStation and PC at no additional cost.

Dark Odyssey Collection – Free Anniversary Update

Players can claim the Dark Odyssey Collection from any Lost Items chest in the base game or automatically while playing Valhalla. The collection includes:

    • Dark Odyssey Armor Set (Breastplate, Bracers, Belt)
  • Companion Armor

    • Dark Odyssey Vestment for Atreus
    • Dark Odyssey Witch Frock for Freya

    • Leviathan Axe – Dark Odyssey Appearance & Knob Attachment
    • Blades of Chaos – Dark Odyssey Appearance & Handles Attachment

New Feature: Edit Appearance for Weapon & Shield Attachments

With this update, players will gain the ability to customize weapon and shield attachments using the “Edit Appearance” feature, allowing for more visual customization while maintaining functional stats.

Released on November 9, 2022, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, God of War Ragnarök is the ninth main entry in the franchise and serves as the conclusion to the Norse saga. The game was later released on Windows on September 19, 2024. Set in ancient Scandinavia, it follows Kratos and his son Atreus as they attempt to prevent the prophesied destruction of the Nine Realms during Ragnarök.
