GTA 4 Gets Updated On PC To Add Some Music Back, Ends Up Corrupting Save Files

Rockstar Games has updated GTA 4 on PC but apparently this update has ended up breaking the game for users, corrupting their save files.

GTA 4 has been available to purchase for Steam since removing the Games for Windows Live requirement. The complete edition of the game is available to purchase offering the extra DLC content in addition to the full main game. Rockstar had updated the game on PC in recent times to remove licensed songs whose deal was reportedly getting expired.

GTA 4 Complete Edition launched on Steam on March 24, 2020. It has been available earlier but the older listing has been removed to place a new version of the game that doesn’t come integrated with Games for Windows Live.

After the new update on PC, it has been reported on Steam that some of the radio stations are back in the game, which was removed in the last update for the PC version. One of the main issues that are being discussed is the loss of the game save files for those who were already in the middle of playing the game.

There are multiple reports of players losing their save file with a huge discussion going on it at Steam forums. This is one of the potential issues with the new update for GTA 4.
