Hideo Kojima has revealed that the development of Kojima Productions’ upcoming action-adventure game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, is now 95 percent complete.
During the latest episode of the Koji Pro radio broadcast (via), Death Stranding 2: On the Beach director Hideo Kojima shared that the game is now 95 percent complete.

Kojima’s exact words were, “It’s at about 95% now… It feels like it is 10 o’clock (PM), speaking of 24 hours, Koji Pro’s DS2 is at 10 o’clock (PM), there are 2 hours left.” Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set for release on June 26, 2025. Given that the game’s development is confirmed to be 95 percent complete, there is plenty of time for Kojima Productions to polish up the experience before launch.
The game’s Collector’s Edition is priced at $229.99 USD / €249.99 / ¥31,980, offering a premium package filled with both physical and digital collectibles, including a 48-hour early access to the game,a 15” Magellan Man Statue, a 3” Dollman figurine, exclusive art cards, a personal letter from Hideo Kojima, in-game items, including early weapon unlocks and gold-level skeletons, and pre-order bonuses, such as a Quokka Hologram and silver-level skeletons. Meanwhile, the Digital Deluxe Edition costs $79.99 USD / €89.99 / ¥9,980, and includes a 48-hour early access, gold-level skeletons and additional in-game items, and exclusive patches.
According to the official PlayStation web page for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the game will feature “incredibly varied environments filled with secrets and unique challenges.” It will also offer players a range of options to tackle both human foes and otherworldly entities, including aggressive, stealthy, and non-hostile approaches. The story will continue where the original left off. Like in the first game, the actions of one player can affect how others interact with its world, and vice-versa. The page also mentions names of the main characters featured in the game, with the exception of the giant samurai, who remains a mysterious figure. This includes Sam Porter Bridges, Lou, Fragile, Tarman, Tomorrow, Higgs Monaghan, and Dollman.
