Prominently featured in this month’s Humble Choice Bundle offering is Warhammer 40,000 Darktide, a first-person action game developed and published by Fatshark, set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. It serves as a spiritual successor to the Warhammer: Vermintide series. The game was released for Microsoft Windows on November 30, 2022, and for Xbox Series X/S on October 4, 2023. The game follows a similar gameplay formula to Fatshark’s Warhammer: Vermintide 2, where four players work together to defeat waves of AI-controlled enemies. Instead of pre-made characters, players can customize their class, appearance, and gender. The four available classes are the Veteran, Zealot, Ogryn, and Psyker, each representing a balanced shooter, support, tank, and DPS role respectively. Unlike Vermintide 2, Darktide features multiple missions that can occur in the same area, with some offering optional secondary objectives for better loot.
