Breath of the Wild Prequel Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Gets Lovely Screenshots

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a brand new Zelda game that is launched later this year. It has received plenty of new screenshots.

Nintendo shared the announcement of a new Zelda game out of nowhere when they uploaded a video showcasing the game on their official YouTube channel. It is also up for pre-order from Nintendo eShop and will cost £49.99. This prequel has a launch date of November 20, 2020.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is set almost 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, so it is a prequel. Nintendo has uploaded a lengthy video on their official channel that goes through the gameplay and story with the developers. It can be seen in action below.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has also received plenty of new screenshots. These screenshots show some of the playable characters and also give a glimpse of the story.

The official description of the game confirms that time traveling will be involved. Players will have to travel to the past to avoid the kingdom’s destruction in this prequel.

“Unfolding a century before the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the fate of Hyrule hangs in the balance. Lead your forces onto the battlefield, then battle against the might of Calamity Ganon in the ultimate struggle for survival.”

The game is set in the familiar world of Hyrule but before Calamity Ganon. Powerful weapons and magical runes can be used to kill enemies while there will be other formidable monsters. The game is also confirmed to support co-op for the Nintendo Switch.
