Nintendo’s 3DS action-platformer, Kirby: Planet Robobot, is set for a Nintendo Switch launch later this year, based on a new rumor.

Online figures and merchandise seller GoodSmile has announced a re-release of the Nendoroid Robobot Armor that Kirby uses in Kirby: Planet Robobot, suggesting that the game may set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch. Last month, known insider Nate the Hate had also claimed on his YouTube channel that the game is set for release on the console later in 2025.

The Nendoroid Robobot Armor stands at approximately 15cm in height and is designed to accommodate Nendoroid Kirby, just as he pilots it in Kirby: Planet Robobot. The armor boasts fully articulated joints, allowing for a wide range of action poses. Alongside the Robobot Armor, a special Planet Robobot edition of Nendoroid Kirby is included, featuring an exclusive face plate that replicates the game’s box art. Additionally, a helmet part is provided for Nendoroid Kirby, completing the authentic Planet Robobot experience.

According to Nate, Nintendo will continue to release filler content for the Nintendo Switch in 2025, just to give people quality games to purchase. He aid that whether they play it on their Switch or their Switch 2, it doesn’t really matter, as the console maker wants people to continue to buy games on the platform as a whole.

For the uninitiated, Kirby: Planet Robobot was developed by HAL Laboratory and released by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS in 2016. As the eleventh mainline installment in the Kirby series and a spiritual successor to Kirby: Triple Deluxe, the game follows Kirby as he battles the Haltmann Works Company, an alien corporation intent on mechanizing Planet Popstar to exploit its natural resources. A key addition to the series is the aforementioned Robobot Armor, which Kirby can pilot to solve puzzles and battle against enemies.
