Nintendo has officially curbed any rumors of a new Nintendo Switch model arriving in 2020. They have confirmed they have no such plans.
Switch has been rumored to get another brand new model in 2020. This time, it will be a much bigger upgrade than the other Switch models including a Lite and a better battery upgrade. Regarding the launch of a new model in 2020, Nintendo has confirmed in their financial briefing that they don’t have any such plan.

“Regarding Nintendo Switch, we believe that it is important to continue to communicate the appeal of both Nintendo Switch systems and expand the installed base, ” reads a statement from Nintendo. “Please note that we have no plans to launch a new Nintendo Switch model during 2020.”
There have been rumors that after launching a portable only Switch in 2019, Nintendo will follow it up in 2020 with a “Pro” variant that will offer more power compared to the traditional hardware offering in the current Switch. They haven’t denied any such claims of better hardware being in development but Nintendo has just shut down any reports of a new model coming in 2020.

As far as the upgrade is concerned, Sony and Microsoft will start the next-generation of console hardware in late 2020. Microsoft is coming with Xbox Series X while Sony will release its PlayStation successor, PlayStation 5. Both of these are confirmed to launch in Holiday 2020.
