Persona 4 vocalist Shihoko Hirata has been recording songs for an unannounced title, possibly the previously rumored Persona 4 remake.
Hirata took to Instagram (via) to share that she has been recording the theme song for a new game, and there’s reason to believe that it may well be the previously rumored Persona 4 remake. For starters, her post shows a photo of Studio 2 from MIT Studio in Tokyo, which happens to be the same studio seen in the Persona 5 Strikers behind-the-scenes “Recording Making-of” video. It is also where most Persona soundtracks of the past decade have been recorded, indicating that the unannounced title is likely a Persona game.

Additionally, Hirata gave a like to all those comments under her post that referenced Persona 4, suggesting that the track she recorded may have something to do with the game. In her post, she mentioned that the piece she’ was recording is pretty tough to perform. As a result, she was a little nervous about getting it right, but she remained positive about it, saying that she’d do her best.
Previously, a former leaker of Persona and Sega-related projects, had claimed that a both Persona 2 and Persona 4 are set to receive the remake treatment from Atlus. Reset Era member Head on the Block, formerly known as insider Im A Hero Too, had further clarified that the Persona 2 project is a remaster while Persona 4 title is a remake.
The original Persona 4 is a role-playing game developed by Atlus in 2008. It is the fifth installment in the Persona series and part of the Megami Tensei franchise. The game was initially released for the PlayStation 2 in Japan (July 2008), North America (December 2008), and Europe (March 2009), marking one of the final major exclusives for the console. It was later re-released as a PlayStation 2 Classic for the PlayStation 3 in April 2014.
