Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield both offer two different versions of the game. Here’s what you need to keep in mind when purchasing any version.
Sword and Shield will have some differences in both versions just like the previous versions of Pokemon games. Both versions of Sword and Shield will have Gen 8 Pokemon with different appearances from their Pokedex. Here are the known details so far regarding the differences we will see in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

What Is Different Between Pokemon Sword and Shield
Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta
Both the versions of Sword and Shield will have a legendary Pokemon in it. Zacian is the Pokemon with a sword in its mouth and he will be the legendary Pokemon in the Sword version. Zamazenta will be available as a legendary Pokemon in the Shield version.
Rumors are around that there will be a third legendary called Eternatus, but these rumors are not official yet but this legendary will likely be available in both versions.
Exclusive Wild Pokemon
In the previous Pokemon games, there was usually some exclusive wild Pokemon in each version. Just like Pokeman Red had Oddish, Mankey, Growlithe, Ekans and a few more. Pokemon Blue had Vulpix, Meowth, Bellsprout, Sandshrew and a few more. It is the same as the previous games for the upcoming Sword and Shield. It will also have some exclusive wild Pokemon which can be obtained by trading.

Exclusive Gym Leaders In Sword and Shield
The other difference in the coming Sword and Shield will be the gym leaders as there is no confirmed report about how many gym leaders will be different but we do know about one in the Sword and Shield version.
There will be Bea as a Gym Leader who will challenge the main character. She is a master of fighting-type Pokemon whereas in Pokemon Shield there will be Allister who is a master of ghost-type Pokemon.
