Resident Evil Movie Reboot Has Been Dated For September 3rd

Sony Pictures has officially dated the upcoming Resident Evil Reboot movie. It was rumored to release in September and this was confirmed today.

Resident Evil series was brought to the big screen was Paul W.S Anderson and there were a total of six movies released beginning with the first one in 2002 and ending with RE: The Final Cut in 2016. The final movie ended the saga of Alice who was a brand new protagonist especially created for the movies.

After the culmination of the storyline, Sony Pictures now rebooting the series with a brand new movie. From the leaked set photos, we know that it will be set in Racoon City during the time of the T-Virus outbreak. Racoon City Police Department can also be seen in one of the leaked set photos.

While there is no official trailer available for this reboot, it was given a release date by Sony Pictures. We had reported about the leaked release date earlier and the official release is quite close to it. The leak specified a September 9 release date while Sony Pictures has dated it for September 3rd.

This reboot is being written and directed by Johannes Roberts, who previously worked on 47 Meters Down. It stars Kaya Scodelario, Robbie Amell, Hannah John-Kamen, Avan Jogia, Tom Hopper, Lily Gao, Neal McDonough, and Donal Logue. This is not the only multimedia project in development based on the Resident Evil series. Netflix is working on two other projects including a live-action show and an animated movie.
