Sonic the Hedgehog movie has received a new trailer along with a release date and the design of Sonic has changed. See it in action yourself with the trailer.

Sonic the Hedgehog is getting a movie from Hollywood and the first reaction to the teaser trailer that also showed Sonic was so bad that it forced the producers of the movie along with the director to apologize for the design and delay the release. It was initially set to launch this year in cinemas but after the design backlash, the launch date was pushed to early 2020.

As the design of Sonic was the main criticism, most fans didn’t pay attention to the movie itself which is still a question mark. One thing is certain though that Jim Carrey as Dr. Eggman is a pretty good casting choice while James Mardsen looks decent enough in his role as a companion to the Hedgehog who is known for his fast speed.

One of the things that are immediately noticeable with the new trailer is how it panders to the audience with a nostalgic opening that shows Green Hill, the first level in Sonic the Hedgehog game. The new design of Sonic is also closer to how most of the fans imagined it, and it looks animated just like Detective Pikachu instead of a freak human-hedgehog hybrid that was the original design.
