The world map featured in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is roughly twice the size of the one found in the first game.
Speaking during an interview with Famitsu, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Creative Director Bryan Intihar revealed that the game’s world map is around twice the size of the one found both previous games. In terms of new locations that have been added to the game world, he mentioned both Queens and Brooklyn.
According to the Spider-Man 2 Creative Director, Brooklyn and Queens are rather small residential areas, and they have their own charm in comparison to Manhattan. He added that Insomniac Games has created exciting new situations that haven’t been seen in prior entries, such as battles taking place along rivers that pass through cities.

However, when exploring the open world outside of story missions, players can freely switch between both characters.

The personal conflicts of Peter and Miles are also depicted, and he hopes that fans will find the parallel between both individul stories interesting.
