Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has managed to sneak its way online despite the game not launching for more than a week.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of the most anticipated Nintendo Switch exclusive set to launch later on December 7. It was leaked online way ahead of its official release date, likely by a group of pirates that managed to obtain an early copy of the game.
The result of this leak is that the full game is now playable if you have obtained an illegal copy of the game, and own a hacked Nintendo Switch on top of it. Nintendo did try to bypass the hack with a new firmware update that managed to temporarily put a stop to Switch hacking scene, but it was quickly broken again.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of the many games that were leaked earlier. Even Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee were leaked ahead of their official release date. While Nintendo is cracking down hard on anyone who uploads leaked footage or information from the game, it is still hard to keep track of these leaks when there are just so many of them.
As it stands right now, people who own a Nintendo Switch can hack their hardware using the exploits that are available online, mainly on the Nintendo Switch piracy reddit, and then use it to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate earlier than the official release date. This also means that the early videos and information from the game has leaked online which can potentially spoil it for others.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will release on December 7th exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
