Players take on the role of a new resident in a desert town. The setting, like in My Time at Portia, is a post-apocalyptic world where society has been rebuilt. My Time at Sandrock combines farm life simulation with role-playing elements. Players are tasked with building up the town, farming, gathering resources, crafting items, completing side quests, and exploring dungeons and ruins of ancient cities. The combat system is similar to My Time at Portia, featuring hack and slash mechanics and the ability to make aimed shots with gun sights. The Windows version supports co-op multiplayer.
