ARC Raiders Trials Season 4 Begins April 29

by Greg Martin

ARC Raiders is preparing to roll out Trials Season 4, with developer Embark Studios outlining a series of changes aimed at making the mode more accessible and competitive. The new season is set to begin on April 29, arriving shortly after the launch of Riven Tides, and will introduce adjustments to progression alongside a new slate of rewards.

As Season 3 wraps up on April 28, players will receive cosmetic unlocks tied to their final rankings. These include multiple variations of the Torque Set, with different colors and outfit pieces distributed across ranks such as Rookie II, Tryhard tiers, Wildcard II, Daredevil I, and Hotshot. These rewards are intended to reflect player performance while offering additional customization options moving forward.

For Season 4, the Trials system is being reworked to remove several restrictions that previously limited participation. Trials will now be available earlier in the cycle, allowing players to progress while exploring the new Riven Tides content. In addition, major map conditions will no longer grant double points, and challenges will no longer be tied to specific map conditions. This change is designed to ensure that all players can engage with objectives regardless of the environment, addressing concerns about uneven access to progression opportunities.

Embark is also introducing a broader range of objectives in response to player feedback. While full details remain under wraps, the studio confirmed that new challenges will include melee-focused tasks, gadget and grenade-based scoring, and activities involving the search for unusual containers. The intent is to add variety and reduce repetition across the season.

The developer acknowledged ongoing concerns surrounding fairness and leaderboard integrity, particularly issues related to squad size advantages. While a complete overhaul is not yet in place, Season 4 represents an initial step toward a more balanced system, including the removal of time-based constraints that previously limited when players could participate.

Season 4 will also feature a new reward track centered on the Recon Outfit. Players can unlock the base version by reaching Tryhard I, with additional cosmetic variations tied to higher ranks such as Hotshot and Cantina Legend. Additional rewards include backpack customization items and a new River Dance emote, which becomes available upon reaching Daredevil rank.

With these updates, Trials Season 4 aims to broaden participation while refining its competitive structure, setting the stage for further improvements as Embark continues to gather player feedback.
